Linoleum factory Forbo, Krommenie acquires linocuts from Dutch artists through Enterprise & Art on a regular basis, to be offered as corporate gifts.
In 1999 Enterprise & Art organized a successful exhibition for Forbo about the 100 year history of the linocut in the Cobra Museum in Amstelveen, with works by Kandinsky, Picasso, Corneille and many other well-known and upcoming artists.
For over fifteen years, Enterprise & Art has regularly supplied paintings to the Sultanate of Oman. Commissioned by Royal Courts Oman, several Dutch, English and German artists specialized in wildlife and nature create paintings and watercolors.
Main subject matters include landscapes and Omani wildlife, such as the oryx, the Arabian leopard and gazelles in the beautiful Omani nature. Arabian horses, camels and Omani fortresses are also among the requested subjects. The paintings are intended for palaces and government buildings throughout Oman.
Nearly 20 artists have now created over 200 paintings for Oman, based on photographs of landscapes, fortresses and wildlife sent from Oman.
On 4 and 5 June 2018, the Zuiderkerk was devoted to the future Sluisbuurt on Zeeburgereiland. During these days workshops were held with experts from different disciplines. As a first, the Sluisbuurt model was on display for the first time. Enterprise & Art signed for the organization.
On June 4, a 3 x 7 meter model of the future Sluisbuurt was shown for the first time. The scale model covers the area around the IJ, from Central Station to Steigereiland on IJburg, including a part of Waterland. The 1:1000 scale model shows how the Sluisbuurt relates to its immediate surroundings and gives an impression of what the neighborhood can look like.
Both the area’s history and its future were discussed, whereby the area’s urban development was shown around the scale model and visitors could get an impression of the future plans for the neighborhood.
The model was the starting point for the Sluisbuurt sessions. These were substantive working sessions of the project team, covering a wide range of topics in the Sluisbuurt, such as: green and ecology, technology and mobility, living and working, sustainability and the possibilities for temporary initiatives. With the results of the workshops, the project team will further develop the plans for the Sluisbuurt.
For NIBC in The Hague, Enterprise & Art organized a very successful art auction among employees in 2016. More than 250 works of art found their way to a new owner. As a result of the refurbishment of the buildings, NIBC no longer had room for the art collection that had grown over the years. After the auction, a large number of artworks were auctioned publicly at an auction house.
Enterprise & Art assists NIBC, The Hague with the maintanance of their art collection. In May 2010 an auction was organized for the personnel of all posters in the collection as well as a number of graphic art works, which were superfluous. The auction took place in the garden of the building and was a big hit. Almost all items found a happy new owner. The auction was professionally conducted by auctioneer Herman Peerdeman of auction house Peerdeman in Utrecht.
In 2008, Enterprise & Art was commissioned by Wara, Heemskerk, to decorate The Address Hotel in Dubai. The artwork was produced by a Dutch artist, specialized in working with natural materials such as drift wood, shells and stones. He produced six impressive works, some consisting of various panels, for the hotel.
In 2008 Enterprise & Art advised Citi Corp Schiphol concerning the purchase of artworks for meeting rooms and corridors. For two meeting rooms, works were purchased from Bernard de Wolff and a photo collage of Amsterdam by Nissim Men was selected for the hallway.
In 2013, a painting exhibition organized by Enterprise & Art opened in the Intercontinental Hotel in Muscat, Oman. Thereafter the exhibition has been on display in the Beit Al Baranda Museum until June 2014.
The 23 oil paintings and watercolors of Omani culture, nature and wildlife on show were created by six European artists, who are internationally renowned specialists in their field. The artists whose work is presented are John Bawtree, Araun Gordijn, Ahmad Haraji, Dick van Heerde, Bernd Pöppelmann and Renso Tamse. Especially for this show the artists have each painted several new works. The show is a pictorial tribute to Oman’s pristine nature and the hospitality of its people.
Through Enterprise & Art these artists have produced works in commission for Royal Estates Affairs of Oman since 2007.
Intercontinental Hotel Muscat

In november 2007 Enterprise and Art organized a symposium in the head office of ING Bank in Amsterdam titled: Great Expectations – art and opportunities in the United Arab Emirates. Among the speakers were Rita Aoun-Abdo, Art and Cultural Advisor of the Abu Dhabi Tourism Development & Investment Company who spoke about the Cultural District on Saadiyat Island (a.o. Louvre and Guggenheim museum) and Bruno Maquart, Director-General, Agence France-Muséums who spoke about Louvre Abu Dhabi.
Ministry of Justice, The Hague, 1996/2002
The Ministry of Justice in The Hague started purchasing works of art in 1996. An art committee, advised by Enterprise & Art, formulates their wishes and priorities. First of all, the lift halls in the twenty-storey high-rise of the Schedeldoekshaven in The Hague would each be provided with an original work on paper by as many Dutch artists.
When a renovation takes place in the corridor where the Minister and the highest officials sit, construction of a collection of small objects by a total of 43 Dutch artists will start. The starting point is the creation of a visually interesting and harmonious collection, in which various techniques and styles will be discussed. The collection, housed in seven built-in display cases, includes works of various materials, such as bronze, stone, ceramics, glass, wood and plastic. Furthermore, three paintings were purchased by renowned painters Jef Diederen and Ger Lataster.
In 2002 objects were purchased from Joost van Santen, Nicolas Dings and Janine Schimkat for the reception hall. Other departments of the Ministry of Justice have also been provided with graphics and paintings.
Arnhem, 2001
In 2001, moving into new offices in Arnhem prompted Kema Quality BV to contact Enterprise & Art. The company wants to enrich the office with a collection of contemporary graphics and work on paper. The company’s art committee set up for this purpose makes a choice from a pre-selection of Enterprise & Art. Employees are allowed to then make a choice from the collection to decorate their own workspace.
After some time, Enterprise & Art was invited again for a presentation of graphics and work on paper. In total, Kema has now purchased 72 pieces of graphics, 17 original works on paper and three glass objects from 43 different artists.
In 2000, the coming transition from guilder to Euro is the reason for Vastgoed 55 to request, through Onderneming & Kunst, textile artist Barbara Broekman to design a monumental tapestry for a building on the Singel in Amsterdam that offers housing to various financial institutions such as Fortis Bank, the Securities Transactions Foundation and the Banking Employers’ Association.
The tapestry designed by Broekman consists of a layered composition composed of details of banknotes from European countries that introduced the Euro in 2001. For example, the Dutch lighthouse and sunflower can be recognized, as well as the French Petit Prince and the Portuguese merchant ship. In addition, the graphic patterns of the Dutch banknote designer Jaap Drupsteen ensure mutual cohesion. The beauty and individual identity of the various banknotes, which were about to disappear, are emphasized in the artwork.
Amsterdam, 2000
Throughout its lenghty existence, Heineken has built up an extensive historical archive. In addition to various brewery attributes, the Heineken collection includes a large collection of historical advertising material, old photos, glasses, bottles, labels, etc. In total, this concerns approximately 18,000 different objects.
Over the years, however, the structure of this archive has been lost and the collection has spread across various locations. In 2000 Enterprise & Art developed a plan to rearrange the entire archive and make it digitally accessible. Within a year, every object from the archive was identified, cleaned, photographed and described before being stored in a completely renovated archive space. All objects were collected into “The Museum System”, ensuring that the majority of the collection is available online to this day.
The Peter Stuyvesant Foundation owned the oldest and most renowned corporate art collection in the Netherlands. The BATCO office in Amsterdam Buitenveldert, where a large part of the collection could be seen, even had an official museum status. Above the cigarette machines, monumental works of art by international artists had been hanging in the factory hall in Zevenaar for many years.
In 1991 and 1992 Erik Hermida as executive advisor to the Peter Stuyvesant Foundation was responsible for organizing exhibitions of works from the collection in the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the Fundació Juan Miró in Barcelona and La Lonja in Zaragoza and Valencia, Spain. In addition, Liesbeth Hemelrijk provided the artist’s biographies for the catalog ‘Kunst werk / Art works – International modern art in the industrial work environment, an experiment lasting more than 30 years’.
